The New Hanover County Register of Deeds Office is now offering customers the ability to order certified copies of land records online via their website: https://search.newhanoverdeeds.com
Customers can search quickly and easily for documents via Name, Book and Page, Document Number or Document Type online. Once the desired document is found, customers can view and print a standard copy for free, or they can conveniently order a certified copy of the document from the Register of Deeds Office with just a few clicks of the mouse.
Customers are shown the total cost of the certified copy and are then asked to input their mailing address and method of payment.
Once the customer submits the request, New Hanover County Register of Deeds Office employees work and fill all certified copy requests the same business day and official certified copies are placed in the mail to the customer the following morning.
The process began earlier this year when Tammy Beasley, Register of Deeds, had a vision to make the process of ordering and receiving a certified copy easier for New Hanover County customers. Working closely with Business Information Systems (BIS), the software provider for the Register of Deeds office, Beasley and BIS were able to implement the new service in just a few months and were able to do so without the county incurring any expense.
“We’re proud to be able to offer this service for New Hanover County. We believe this service will make the entire ordering process much easier for the end user. We’re excited to see the usage data and see how the service evolves, not only in New Hanover County, but in surrounding counties as well.” said David Casaday, North Carolina Representative for BIS.
